Small Development Projects: South West Region
We have produced a number of surveys and reports for small and medium sized developments from 1 to 10 dwellings. These include Tree Surveys to BS5837, Ecological reports and surveys, covering bats, reptiles and other protected species.
This extends to Landscape Visual Impact Assessments and Heritage Assessments on sensitive sites, including paragraph 79 developments.

Arboricultural Survey and Report (Complex Site): The Chantry, St. Ive, Cornwall
The Chantry is undergoing an ambitious development to open a museum at the birthplace of social reformer Emily Hobhouse. There are a number of problems to solve, particularly relating to the retention of mature and significant trees, which have been surveyed, categorised and in some cases further investigated with an air spade.

Wildflower and Wetland Habitat Creation: South Hooe Farm, River Tamar
Working with our client, Natural England within the Tamar Valley AONB we have designed a scheme to create 30 acres of wildflower meadows on existing pasture and arable fields which are now in establishment. We have also advised on a major wetland habitat creation, allowing the Tamar to flood drained pasture, creating fresh and saltwater habitats.

Landscape Design and Management Plan: Drake’s Island, Plymouth Sound
This project has it all, significant heritage, wildlife and a setting with multiple high level designations. Land and Heritage produced a landscape plan for the proposed development and restoration of the landscape, which includes ecological mitigation work. The site is a scheduled monument, with listed buildings, surrounded by an SAC, home to protected species.

Woodland Creation and Management Schemes: South West
We frequently provide woodland management plans for small and large areas of woodland. We design new woodlands, taking great care to plant the right trees in the right place. We obtain finance for planting through grants, carbon offsetting and biodiversity net gain payments. We create exciting and new habitats for wildlife, which lock away carbon for generations.

Tree Safety Surveys and Emergency Works: Roborough, Plymouth
Surrounded by busy roads and housing, Bickleigh Down Wood is widely used by the public, and carries a blanket tree protection order. We have undertaken both emergency and routine safety works, using our experienced contracting team. The work also required bat surveys, and habitat enhancement using felled and pruned material.
